Kitsune

About this board game

Kitsune is a 25-minute game for 2–6 players about finding beautiful fox spirits and winning their friendship through luck and careful decisions.

Reveal cards one at a time, trying not to repeat any color. The more you risk, the more chances you have to find the little kitsune—but approaching carelessly can scare them away and make you lose them. At any point, you may stop and resolve the revealed cards in any order you choose.

Your goal depends on the number of players. In a 2–4 player game, collect three kitsune of each color: red, blue, and yellow. With 5 or 6 players, you need two kitsune of each color. If you have the required foxes at the end of your turn, you win immediately.

• Kitsune cards help you achieve your winning objective.
• Renewal cards let you draw cards from other players.
• Prosperity cards help protect your kitsune.
• Oni cards are played instantly to help or hinder others.

Every turn in Kitsune balances temptation and caution. Decide how far to push your luck, when to stop, and how best to resolve the cards you have revealed. Meanwhile, the mischievous Oni can change everything with their pranks.

With its colorful collection goal, risk-taking card reveals, and interactive effects, Kitsune offers a compact race to gather the right foxes before your opponents do.
