About this board game

Cartaventuras is a narrative card game for 1–8 players, with each game taking about 45 minutes. Take the role of a novice adventurer and set out across a fantasy kingdom in search of the power, equipment, and fortune needed to defeat the Great Dragon.

Every journey creates its own story. The kingdom’s map is built randomly, card by card, and each card presents text and an image describing an event. As the adventure unfolds, your choices and discoveries shape the tale of your hero—possibly a story of glory, or the Dragon’s next meal.

Your starting equipment has potential, but it is hardly intimidating. Explore before confronting the kingdom’s greatest monster, finding riches by defeating enemies, acquiring weapons and objects, and collecting fragments of powerful relics that can be forged. Those enemies, however, will not surrender their possessions willingly, and rival adventurers may work against you.

• Explore a changing kingdom: Build the map randomly from adventure cards.
• Develop your adventurer: Seek weapons, objects, riches, and relic fragments.
• Manage and negotiate: Use your items intelligently, trade skillfully, and plan your route.
• Challenge the Great Dragon: Face its sharp teeth, impenetrable scales, and legendary treasure.

Cartaventuras blends fantasy, humor, and storytelling into a competitive quest where only one player can win—although everyone may lose. Prepare carefully, choose your path, and decide when your adventurer is ready to risk everything against the Great Dragon.
