About this board game

Don Capollo is an intense negotiation game for 3–6 players that plays in about 45 minutes. First released in 2013, it casts players as Italian mobsters competing to rise through the family organization.

The family’s businesses span a broad range of illicit and profitable ventures, from guns and liquor to casinos, prostitution, loan sharking, bribery, artwork, and olive oil. Players must use their negotiating skills to make the best transactions, take care of the most profitable businesses, and avoid losses.

  • Negotiate transactions with the other mobsters.
  • Manage eight family businesses, including guns, liquor, casinos, and artwork.
  • Exchange favors to accumulate money and power.
  • Compete to become the most powerful figure in the organization.

Deals are only part of the struggle. Players also perform various exchanges of favors, building the money and power needed to strengthen their position while competing against their friends. Every negotiation can help determine who controls the most profitable interests in the family.

In Don Capollo, success means reaching the top of the organization with enough wealth and influence to be feared and respected by everyone. The most powerful mobster earns the title of Don Capollo and is recognized as the Capo Dei Capi.
