About this board game
Skyline Express is an easy-entry family board game for 1–4 players, with a playing time of about 60 minutes. Across three rounds, you will manage an aerial train carriage by placing passengers, fulfilling preferences, and earning the most victory points.
On your turn, choose a passenger from the current waiting line and place them in your carriage. The changing board state means that every choice matters: observe the other players, adapt to the current round, and arrange passengers in ways that support your scoring plans.
Skyline Express combines familiar mechanisms including pattern building, set collection, tile placement, and action selection. Six passenger types appear in the game, including Personas with individual preference tiles. These tiles show where a Persona wants to sit and which passengers they want nearby, rewarding you with valuable points when their preferences are fulfilled.
- Complete two goals available during each round.
- Earn ticket tokens by filling compartments.
- Spend two ticket tokens to acquire Service tiles that score for matching passenger pairs.
Service tiles provide another way to build your score, while the round’s goals encourage you to adjust your plans as new passengers enter the Main Hall. You may also perform actions and acquire Service tiles during your turn, adding further choices to each placement.
A round ends when all passengers from the Main Hall have been placed in players’ carriages. After scoring goals, services, and Personas, a new round begins with fresh passengers. When the third round is scored, the player with the most victory points becomes the manager of the Skyline Express.
With its accessible rules and layered placement decisions, Skyline Express offers a welcoming experience for families and fans of games such as Azul, Sagrada, and Reef.
