About this board game

By Golly! is a children’s memory game for 2–6 players that takes about 15 minutes to play. Players work to match cards from their hands with face-down cards scattered around the table, racing to clear their hands first.

Each player is dealt a hand of colorful cards depicting birds, worms, and other subjects. Around 20 additional cards that match the cards in players’ hands are placed face down around the table, creating the central memory challenge.

• Players: 2–6
• Play time: 15 minutes
• Core mechanic: Match cards in your hand with face-down cards on the table
• Winning goal: Be the first player to clear your hand

On a turn, players must find table cards that match cards they hold. Successfully matching cards helps empty a hand, while the face-down layout makes remembering and recognizing the available cards central to play.

With its simple objective and colorful animal-themed cards, By Golly! offers an accessible memory-game experience for children and families. The first player to match away every card in their hand wins.

Released in 2001, By Golly! is part of The Chicken Family of Zoch. Its short playing time and support for up to six players make it a compact choice for a group looking for a straightforward card-matching game.
