About this board game
Kyudo is a dice-driven archery contest for 2–4 players that plays in about 25 minutes. Roll, reroll, and assign colored arrows to a central target while trying to keep your spectators from wandering away.
Each player takes a role card and a scoring sheet showing the target, five colored flags, and twenty spectators. On your turn, roll the four dice up to three times, rerolling as you wish. The dice display five colors and an arrow, creating opportunities for both accurate shots and valuable combinations.
For every arrow, assign it to a color you rolled and mark a space on that color’s ring of the central target. Once a colored ring is complete, further hits on that color make your opponents lose spectators. Staying ahead means balancing your own progress with pressure on the other archers.
- Colored pairs and groups: Roll two or more dice of the same color to mark spaces on that color’s flag.
- Flag bonuses: Completing a flag can let you mark two spaces, change a die to any face, or avoid losing spectators during a chosen turn.
- Special results: Four arrows make all opponents lose four spectators, while four different colors activate your role’s special power.
Role powers can force opponents to use only three dice for a round or add a green or blue circle to their targets. But every spectator matters: lose them all and you are eliminated.
In Kyudo, the last archer remaining wins. Alternatively, completing your target can secure victory if you have the most spectators, rewarding both precise planning and crowd-pleasing spectacle.
