About this board game
Greedy Kingdoms is a head-to-head kingdom-building game for 2 players that plays in about 20 minutes. First released in 2009, it challenges rival rulers to gather resources and construct two Royal Palaces before their opponent.
Each player competes with an opposing kingdom by playing subjects from their hand. These subjects help you acquire the resources needed to develop your realm and pursue victory. The game focuses on a direct race between two competing rulers.
Resources in Greedy Kingdoms include:
- Honor
- Gold
- Food
- Land
Once you have collected enough resources, you can construct a Royal Palace, a symbol of honor within your kingdom. The first player to build two Royal Palaces wins, making timing and progress central to the contest.
With its compact playing time and focused two-player format, the game is built around a clear rivalry. You and your opponent develop your kingdoms while working toward the same decisive objective: completing two Royal Palaces more quickly than the other ruler.
Greedy Kingdoms can also support larger games when two decks are available. In that format, 3 or 4 players can compete, extending the kingdom contest beyond its basic head-to-head setting. Whether played as a duel or with additional players, the core goal remains gathering resources and achieving the required palace construction first.
