Stinky Business

About this board game

Stinky Business is a family board game for 2–5 players aged 10 and up, with a playing time of about 90 minutes. Over ten rounds, players build waste processing companies and compete to achieve the highest income and most victory points.

Each player takes on the role of a waste processing manager. By building recycling plants, incineration plants, and waste processing facilities, players transform unwanted waste into a profitable business.

Every round is divided into four phases. During the littering phase, each player draws four waste cards and chooses exactly one to keep. The investment phase follows, allowing players to purchase plants, facilities, and profitability tokens for their player boards.

Investments influence the recycling and incineration phase, which provides players with waste cards to process in the final phase of the round. The decisions made across these phases shape each company’s income and its prospects for the final assessment.

After the tenth round, players receive victory points for their investments and gained money. Garbage cards and waste cards discarded during the game can also bring negative points, so the final score reflects both successful development and unwanted waste.

Once positive and negative points have been totaled, the player with the highest score wins. With its focus on investment, waste management, revenue, and scoring, Stinky Business turns waste processing into a competitive family game.
