Donjon: Les Apprentis Gardiens is a 2024 board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 50 minutes. Step into the role of an apprentice hoping to take over from the Guardian and prove that you can manage a dungeon of your own.

At the beginning, you receive a few monsters and part of a dungeon to work on. From there, you can recruit additional monsters and move them into the rooms where they are needed. Your aim is to satisfy the demands of the illustrious Hyacinthe de Cavallère while keeping your dungeon under control.

Help may come from four notable lieutenants, each ready to support your efforts if you are willing to make the right sacrifice. Their assistance is tied to sending monsters into the oubliettes, adding an important choice to your attempt to become the next Guardian.

• Recruit monsters and expand your dungeon workforce.
• Move monsters to the appropriate rooms.
• Respond to the demands of Hyacinthe de Cavallère.
• Call on Marvin, Herbert, Horous, and Alcibiade for aid.
• Deal with unwelcome adventurers before they overrun your dungeon.

While you organize your monsters and develop your dungeon, unwanted adventurers may arrive to disrupt your plans. Remember to get rid of them from time to time, or your carefully managed domain could become invaded.
