About this board game
Automata NOIR is a 2–4 player hidden-identity and deduction game that plays in about 30 minutes. Players take on roles such as Killer, Inspector, Police, or Criminal across four distinct game modes.
In the classic Killer vs. Inspector mode, each player receives a secret identity from among 25 suspects, along with an open role that determines available moves and victory conditions. The Killer eliminates suspects while relying on intuition and reading the opponent; the Inspector uses secret information and accusations to logically narrow the possibilities.
Automata NOIR offers updated versions of the original modes from NOIR: Deductive Mystery Game – Black Box Edition, alongside two new ways to play. Each mode presents a different take on pursuit, rivalry, teamwork, or deduction.
- Killer vs. Inspector: A classic hunter-or-hunted game with updated rules.
- Spy Tag: A 3- and 4-player mode where players score points by capturing rivals.
- Buddy Cop: A 3-player variant in which two Police players work together against a single Criminal.
- Dragnet: A 3- and 4-player deductive game about solving a conspiracy by connecting suspects.
The game’s world and characters originated in the Automata comic created by Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins. The cast includes Carl Swangee, Sam Regal, and a host of new and lesser-known faces.
Whether you prefer intuitive pursuit, logical elimination, rival-hunting, or cooperative investigation, Automata NOIR provides a compact collection of mystery-driven formats for two to four players.
