About this board game
Verrix is a historical strategy and management board game for 2–5 players, with games lasting around 150 minutes. Set in Britannia in 54 B.C., it challenges each player to lead a Celtic tribe and achieve the highest possible level of Fame over 12 turns, known as the Celtic Calendar.
Every tribe has distinct characteristics, creating an asymmetric experience from the start. Players choose a tribe with a particular inclination—Craftsmanship, Trade, Mysticism, Raid, or Battle—as well as a starting region. During the game, they can grow their population, promote a tribe member to become the leader, and expand the number of Action Cards in their possession.
The central system combines card hand management with a small deck-building element. Action Cards reflect the Celtic character of each tribe and offer one route to earning victory points. Strong player interaction keeps the struggle for influence and Fame competitive throughout the game.
- Play as a Celtic tribe with its own characteristics.
- Develop your population, promote a leader, and increase your Action Card options.
- Seek victory points through Action Cards, the favor of the Gods, and battles.
- Compete across four main festivals in the Celtic calendar.
Festivals provide another opportunity to earn points as players seek the favor of the Gods on four key occasions. Battles offer a further path to success, allowing tribes to win points in the best Celtic way.
With several scoring routes, an interactive setting, and tribes that play differently, Verrix rewards careful planning and adaptation across its 12-turn journey to Fame.
