About this board game
Shiloh: The First Day is a Blind Swords series game for 1–3 players with an advertised play time of 600 minutes, designed by Steve Carey and released in 2024.
As Volume 11 in the series, it is the largest Blind Swords game to date, featuring two 22×34-inch maps and three counter sheets. The game includes seven scenarios, offering a range of formats for different table sizes and session preferences.
Three scenarios use smaller maps: one is played on an 8.5×11-inch map, another on a 15×19-inch map, and another on an 11×11-inch map. These smaller engagements are described as options for players who want small and quick fights, while the two large maps support the broader scenarios included in the game.
- Two 22×34-inch maps
- One 15×19-inch, one 8.5×11-inch, and one 11×11-inch scenario map
- Three 5/8-inch counter sheets, with 176 counters per sheet
- Four 8.5×11-inch and two 11×17-inch player aids
- Two Brigade Activation Displays and a General Records Track
- Series, exclusive, and scenario rulebooks
Additional materials include a Scenarios Special Rules Summary card, a game box or zip bag, and two six-sided dice—one red and one white—in the boxed version. With its multiple map formats, extensive component set, and seven scenarios, Shiloh: The First Day presents a substantial entry in the Blind Swords series.
