About this board game
Animals in Espionage is a quick game for exactly two players, with a play time of about 15 minutes, in which each player directs their own spy agency. Released in 2022, it challenges both players to recruit animal agents while secretly sending a spy to the opposing agency.
Each round, players work with a hand of agents and split it into two groups. Their opponent then chooses which group they want to recruit first, making every division an important decision. Players alternate through these rounds as they attempt to collect their assigned recruit and manage the agents available to both agencies.
Alongside the visible recruiting, each player is trying to send a secret spy to their opponent. The game features six animal agents, and players must pay attention to the choices made throughout the game while keeping their own intentions hidden.
Once all the agents have been divided between the players, both players simultaneously guess which agent their opponent was secretly trying to recruit. Correctly identifying that hidden target is another way to score points, rewarding careful observation and deduction.
