About this board game
Funglish is a fast-moving word-guessing game for 3–99 players, with a playing time of about 90 minutes. Players use descriptive tiles to help everyone else guess a hidden word before time runs out.
There is no talking or acting. Instead, search through 120 descriptive tiles, grab the clues that fit, and play them for the other players to interpret. The group can then shout out its guesses as the clues build toward the answer.
To guide players toward KANGAROO, for example, you might play tiles such as living, wild, and tall. Those clues could suggest a redwood, a giraffe, or a basketball player, so keep adding more precise descriptions such as furry, brown, and bouncy until someone reaches the right answer.
- 120 descriptive tiles for building clues
- A word-guessing challenge based on finding and playing the right descriptors
- Shouted guesses and a race against the clock
- Support for groups ranging from 3 to 99 players
Once another player guesses the word, move on to a new one and keep the clues flowing. The result is a funny, noisy, entertaining experience that rewards quick thinking and the ability to express an idea without speaking or acting.
Released in 2009, Funglish offers a distinctive way to play a word game: rather than explaining an answer directly, you assemble a pile of descriptive hints and let the table work it out. It is a lively choice for large groups looking for magical, fast-paced fun.
