About this board game
Coloretto Amazonas is a card game for 2–4 players, with a playing time of about 20 minutes. Released in 2005, it challenges players to draw cards and collect sets of rare animals.
Players place their animal cards in open rows, next to open bonus cards. Completing a row activates the corresponding bonus card, giving its owner extra victory points. The result is a straightforward card-collecting game with an additional layer of timing and interaction.
Cards can also be used to annoy an opponent by removing one of that player’s animals. This disruptive option can interfere with another player’s collection, but the targeted player receives a protection card after an animal is taken away.
Protection cards temporarily defend players against further attacks from their fellow players. This creates a changing balance between building your own rows, completing sets, and deciding when interference is worthwhile.
