About this board game
Rebis is a 2020 card game for 1–4 players that takes about 20 minutes, challenging players to build library shelves while managing book weights, victory points, and powerful mixture tokens.
On each turn, draw a card from the Library deck, then play cards to your own Active Shelf or place one card on another player’s shelf. You may play one card or two cards with the same number to your shelf, provided the shelf’s total book weight does not exceed 13. There is no hand limit.
Cards played to another player’s shelf can use either their positive or negative value, but a shelf’s book victory points can never become negative. Playing a negative-value card also lets you draw another card from the Library deck. If your card pushes a shelf’s total beyond 13, that shelf closes, creating a new Active Shelf; closing another player’s shelf earns you a Mixture token while giving that player a card.
- Manage shelves: Build totals without exceeding the weight limit.
- Disrupt opponents: Add cards to other shelves using positive or negative values.
- Multiply scores: Place golden dust Mixture tokens on shelves to multiply their victory values.
- Watch the ending: The game ends when the deck runs out or all mixture tokens except the red token are taken.
At the beginning of your turn, you may place any number of golden dust Mixture tokens exclusively on your Active Shelf. When those tokens run out, players take a golden Mixture token instead, placing it immediately on any shelf. At the end, negative book values across your shelves and cards in hand determine who receives the red Mixture token.
Finally, each shelf’s total book value is multiplied by its mixture tokens. The player with the highest total wins. The included Rebis: Zero mini-expansion adds nine zero-weight library cards that change the game flow.
