About this board game
Stars of Ilumeïa is a constellation-building board game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. Set in a distant galaxy, it challenges players to become the most powerful god by winning the favour of many civilisations and fulfilling their prophecies.
Players collect star cards and arrange them into constellations according to specific placement rules. Every constellation can bring victory points or other bonuses from the civilisations, but success depends on more than simply connecting stars. The number and position of stars matter, along with features such as comets, symmetry, flaming stars, and more.
- Acquire new star cards from a display.
- Assemble constellations while following their placement rules.
- Earn victory points and bonuses from civilisations.
- Generate divine energy through certain constellations.
- Use limited energy cubes to claim particularly powerful bonuses.
Large constellations can provide substantial scores, yet quickly creating several smaller constellations may also be the right choice. This gives players meaningful decisions about whether to pursue ambitious patterns or build a broader collection of scoring opportunities.
Divine energy is another important part of each turn. Certain constellations generate additional energy, allowing more actions, while special characteristics can let players spend energy cubes to claim especially strong rewards from some civilisations. Because the available energy is limited, timing its use is crucial.
With its focus on card arrangement, visual star patterns, prophecies, and competing rewards, Stars of Ilumeïa invites players to shape a galaxy of constellations while carefully balancing immediate gains against larger scoring ambitions.
