About this board game

Double Donkey is a card-and-dice game for 2–5 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. Everyone is a donkey, but nobody wants to be the biggest donkey when the round ends.

Each player starts with a personal deck of 10 donkey cards and draws three cards. The game combines careful dice selection with simultaneous card play, creating a contest where choosing the right values—and risking a little—can help you get rid of your cards quickly.

Every round begins with the Dice Phase. All six dice are rolled, then players take turns choosing one die and setting it aside. The next player rolls the remaining dice and selects one, continuing until all six results have been determined.

During the Card Phase, all players simultaneously play one to three donkey cards from their hands. The dice results determine the value of the cards, while the colors of the donkey cards correspond to the colored dice.

• Play 1–3 donkey cards from your hand.
• Compare the card values created by the dice results.
• The player with the highest card value becomes the biggest donkey and cannot discard those cards.
• All other players draw new cards from their own decks.

The first player to get rid of their entire 10-card deck wins. With its blend of sequential dice choices, simultaneous decisions, and a clear race to empty your deck, Double Donkey gives every round a chance to change who is carrying the biggest burden.
