About this board game
Three Days of Gettysburg: Deluxe Edition is a detailed American Civil War battle game for 1–2 players, with a listed playing time of 1,500 minutes. Released in 2026, it places players in command of the Union Army of the Potomac or the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia during the Battle of Gettysburg.
Players direct their forces through the chain of command, from corps and divisions down to brigades and individual infantry regiments and artillery batteries. The game uses interactive chit-pull mechanics to capture the chaotic tempo of 19th-century combat at regimental level, while high solitaire playability supports solo battles.
The Deluxe Edition includes more than ten scenarios, ranging from small skirmishes on half-sized maps to a complete Gettysburg experience using four full-sized maps. Scenarios cover key actions including the first day’s fighting around Gettysburg, Sickles’ salient, Cress Ridge, Buford’s defense against Heth, Cemetery Hill, the fighting north of town, and the East Cavalry Battlefield.
- New cavalry counters support historically focused mounted tactics, including Confederate dismounted cavalry.
- Skirmisher rules represent infantry detachments, dismounted cavalry, and specialized breakdown units.
- Artillery rules include overshoot effects, corrected weapon types, section breakdowns, and losses taken instead of Disorder.
- Revised Collapse, recovery, town, terrain, and battle-book rules add further Gettysburg-specific detail.
Across the maps, players encounter stonewalls, Devil’s Den’s house-sized rocks, sloping hexes, woods, entrenched positions, and difficult artillery movement. The included 2026 GBACW rules, Deluxe Edition battle book, scenario book, and simple-version materials provide multiple complexity levels for exploring the battle.
With extensive counters, four full-size map boards, smaller scenario maps, and dedicated East Cavalry Battlefield coverage, Three Days of Gettysburg: Deluxe Edition offers a broad, deeply detailed treatment of the campaign’s major engagements.
