About this board game

Altar: Realms of the Gods is a card game for 2–5 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Choose a god, defend your Realm, and compete to become the most powerful deity in a world thrown into chaos.

Humanity’s return to knowledge has awakened the surviving gods, who demand faith and obedience to reclaim their lost power. As rival gods and their followers clash, each player must build Shrines and discover the hidden Altars within their god’s Realm.

On your turn, draw a card and perform one main action. You can use a card ability, perform a Ritual to build a Shrine and place it on your Realm, or Worship a god by placing a follower face-up beside your Realm. Followers show where abilities are activated and help protect against enemy gods. You may also take any number of free actions during your turn.

• Use card abilities to activate Altars, draw additional cards, destroy enemy Altars, and more.
• Perform Rituals to build Shrines on your god’s Realm.
• Worship a god to place followers that support your Realm and its abilities.

The game ends when a player has built at least one Shrine and discovered and activated every Altar on their Realm. In Altar: Realms of the Gods, the fate of the world rests on your ability to gather power while confronting the other gods. Will your rule bring light, love, war, fear, or eternal darkness?
