About this board game
Overload is a racing game for 3–5 players, with games lasting around 30 minutes. Across several laps, players race to score as many points as possible while managing the number of discs on their figure.
Before the race begins, each player decides how many discs to place on their figure. This starting choice directly affects scoring: the more discs you have, the more you score. The race therefore begins with every player setting their own level of load.
During the race, being passed changes your position in more than one way. Whenever another player passes you, you add another disc to your figure. As the number of discs increases, so does your potential score—but collecting too many creates a serious problem.
- Choose how many discs to place on your figure at the start.
- Race over several laps and aim to score as many points as possible.
- Add a disc whenever someone passes you.
- Avoid collecting so many discs that you go out of control.
If you collect too many discs, you go out of control and must start the lap again. The result is a race where passing can increase another player’s load, while every additional disc brings both greater scoring potential and the risk of losing progress on the current lap.
With its combination of racing, scoring, passing, and escalating disc loads, Overload keeps the focus on how much you can carry while continuing around the track. Released in 2019, it is designed for 3–5 players seeking a compact racing game built around laps and risk.
