City Chase

About this board game

City Chase is a hidden-movement pursuit game for 2–4 players that plays in around 20 minutes. One player hides the thief’s car beneath a building while the police work together to find it.

The game begins with the board set up using 25 three-dimensional buildings. These buildings can be lifted, allowing the thief’s car to be placed underneath one of them. The thief must then move secretly from building to building while the police attempt to track the escape.

During the thief’s turn, all police players close their eyes. The thief moves the car beneath an adjacent building, keeping the new location hidden. Once the thief’s turn is complete, the police open their eyes and begin their search.

On the police turn, each helicopter can take one of two possible actions:

• Move: Move the helicopter to an adjacent crossing.
• Search: Look beneath an adjacent building for the thief’s car.

The police players share a common objective: find the thief within 11 rounds. If they discover the car in time, the police collectively win. If the thief remains hidden through all 11 rounds, the thief wins.

With secret movement, a board full of liftable buildings, and a clear race against the clock, City Chase creates a focused contest between concealment and investigation. Every police action brings the helicopters closer to the hidden car, while the thief continually seeks the next safe building.
