About this board game

UNO Zero is a tabletop card game for 2–8 players, with rounds lasting about 25 minutes and a goal of scoring as low as possible—ideally zero.

Each player begins with six face-down cards arranged in a grid of three columns and two rows. Before play continues, two cards are revealed. On each turn, players draw a card from either the discard pile or the draw pile, then exchange it with one of the cards in their grid as they work to reveal everything.

The key to reducing your score is finding pairs within a column. Two cards in the same column can be discarded when they share a colour or a number, allowing players to remove points from their grid. Since the cards begin hidden, every exchange can bring a useful match—or create an unexpected problem.

  • Reverse changes the direction of play.
  • Draw Two and Draw Four cards make players add more columns to their grids.
  • Skip makes the next player miss their turn.

These familiar UNO action cards give the game its dynamic character, combining recognizable effects with the unusual challenge of managing a hidden grid. One round may leave you with only two cards at the end, while another player could still have twelve cards in front of them.

When you have only one face-down card left, remember to say “UNO!” Missing the call means drawing two more cards. Easy to learn and quick to explain, UNO Zero offers surprising turns, lucky breaks, and a low-score race that feels different every round.
