About this board game
Guts of Glory is a 30-minute eating contest for 2–4 players, set in a post-apocalyptic future.
Players race to win the approval of a roaring crowd by chewing and swallowing the most spectacular foods. Every turn, each player must eat a new item from the plate, making every bite part of the contest for glory.
The challenge comes when an item will not fit in a player’s mouth. In that case, it is spewed out, giving another player the chance to catch and swallow it for even more glory. These transfers can create chain reactions reminiscent of traumatic pre-school lunch experiences.
- Players: 2–4
- Play time: 30 minutes
- Setting: A post-apocalyptic future
- Core contest: Eat spectacular foods and earn the crowd’s approval
That combination of eating, spewing, catching, and swallowing gives Guts of Glory its distinctive spectacle. A turn can involve more than simply taking food from the plate: a failed bite may send an item toward a rival, who can turn the mishap into another opportunity for glory.
Released in 2012, Guts of Glory presents an unusual race for recognition in which the roaring crowd watches every remarkable mouthful. It is an eating contest where the most memorable moments may come from the foods that do not stay where they started.
