Cartaventura: D-Day

About this board game

Cartaventura: D-Day is a 2024 pocket-sized historical adventure for 1–6 players, with a play time of about 60 minutes. Inspired by the “book in which you are the hero” format, it invites you to make choices and guide a young protagonist through occupied France.

The scenario begins in Normandy in July 1943. At 17, you hope to enjoy the sweetness of summer despite the terrible hardships of life under occupation. Yet the horror and injustice around you stir a growing rage, leaving you with an urgent question: how should you act?

Your journey unfolds through cards that present different options. Travel, explore, and make important encounters as you determine what happens next. Every decision helps shape your adventure and brings you closer to the best possible ending for the hero you play.

Cartaventura: D-Day combines an accessible format with a serious historical setting, creating a personal story about courage, choices, and life during wartime. Its compact presentation makes the adventure easy to approach, while the scenario’s setting places you directly in a tense moment in the history of occupied France.

Whether played alone or with a group of up to six, the game focuses on discovering the consequences of your decisions. Read the cards, consider your options, and decide how far your character is willing to go when faced with injustice. Each encounter offers another step in this historical adventure.
