About this board game

Fragile is a strategy game for 1–4 players that takes about 35 minutes, challenging teams of workers to move fragile cargo from a wharf in Shanghai to their own warehouses.

A whole slew of crates has arrived, but getting them to safety is far from simple. Each player controls a team of Chinese workers and must bring crates across a setting where the warehouses are scattered all over the place. Careful plans can quickly go askew when opposing workers push a crate out from under your nose.

The central challenge is to use your team effectively while racing the other players. The goal is to be the first to fill your warehouse with crates—or, more precisely, to earn the most points for the fragile cargo. Timing, positioning, and strategic decisions all matter as players compete to secure the deliveries they need.

  • For 1–4 players
  • Approximately 35 minutes to play
  • Move fragile cargo from a Shanghai wharf to your warehouse
  • Control a team of workers while opponents disrupt your plans
  • A variant adds more luck to the game

Designed by Czarné, who also created the graphics, Fragile combines tactical competition with a distinctive visual presentation. Its shifting plans and direct interference give the cargo race an engaging layer of interaction, while the optional variant lets players add a little more luck to help things along.

Released in 2006, Fragile is made for players who enjoy a compact contest of strategic planning, contested movement, and carefully managed cargo. Can your team fill its warehouse before the other workers take the crates you need?
