About this board game
America in Flames is a strategic-level board game for 2–6 players, with campaigns that can last about 360 minutes. Set in an alternate 1945, it imagines Germany, Italy, and Japan launching the largest invasion in history against the Americas.
The game focuses on the struggle for control of North and South America. Players manage the economies and conduct military operations of the major nations involved, taking the side of the Axis or the Allies. Germany, Italy, and Japan oppose the Commonwealth, France, and the USA in a desperate conflict over the fate of the free world.
Allied players must resist the swelling tide of Fascism while trying to buy time for scientists developing a weapon of unimaginable power. The conflict also extends beyond the major powers, as players attempt to woo neutral minor countries onto their side and use their support to help overthrow the enemy.
- Strategic-level campaign centered on an imaginary invasion of America
- Playable by 2–6 players
- Approximately 360 minutes of play time
- 840 counters and two large maps
- Playable on its own or combined with World in Flames
As a complete game, America in Flames gives players the tools to refight the greatest war that never happened. Its campaign combines economic management, military operations, shifting allegiances, and the pressure of limited time across a vast Western Hemisphere theater.
When combined with World in Flames, the experience expands to include the full range of decisions required for the successful prosecution of World War II. Whether defending democracy or directing the Axis assault, players determine whether the Americas can survive the coming darkness.
