In the Name of Odin: Kickstarter Edition is a strategy game for 2–5 players, with an approximate play time of 60 minutes. Released in 2016, it challenges each player to become the new Jarl in the name of Odin.

Every player is a brave warrior, shrewd trader, and bold explorer competing for the right to rule. During the game, players spend action cards to develop their villages, gather companions, recruit famous Vikings, and construct longships.

Longships carry players toward fame and glory, while village development and recruitment shape each player’s path to leadership. The game combines building, gathering companions, recruiting, and seafaring within a contest for the Jarl’s title.

The Kickstarter Edition includes additional cards, ships, and miniatures packaged inside the game box. Its contents include:

• Three hero cards: Halfdan, Hakon, and Ragnar
• Four raid cards: Novgorod, Paris, Rouen, and Zeburg
• Three new ship cards
• Six additional miniatures, with two in each color

These Kickstarter contents are included inside the box, which is identified by a Kickstarter sticker on the outer shrink wrap to distinguish it from a retail edition. In the Name of Odin offers a focused Viking strategy experience for players seeking to build, recruit, explore, and compete for rule.
