About this board game

Taiga is a memory-driven animal-searching game for 2-6 players, playable in about 15 minutes. Players take turns revealing hidden animal discs, trying to find the animal shown on the current card while collecting tokens and valuable animal cards.

To begin, the ten double-sided animal discs are arranged in a circle. The cards are shuffled and placed in the circle, then the top card is revealed to identify the animal players must search for. Tokens are added to represent animals of that type that are not currently visible.

On a turn, a player flips one disc to reveal its other side. If it shows the target animal, the player takes one token from the circle. Revealing the fourth animal of the required type earns the final token as well as the animal card, completing that search before the next card is revealed.

  • Hidden-information memory: Keep track of which animals are concealed on the reverse sides of the discs.
  • Changing targets: Each revealed card identifies the animal players must find next.
  • Risk and reward: An incorrect reveal requires the player to return a token to the bank.
  • Simple scoring: Each token is worth one point, while each animal card is worth two points.

Taiga includes ten animal cards and no elf cards. The game ends after all ten cards have been used, and the player with the most points wins.

With its compact playing time and straightforward flip-and-search system, Taiga combines observation, memory, and tactical risk in a concise contest for players who can remember what is hidden and choose their next reveal carefully.
