About this board game
Wanzen Tanzen is a dice-and-card game for 2–4 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. Roll dice, set them aside to meet the tasks on the current card, and compete to claim positive points while avoiding penalties.
At the beginning of the game, 15 of the 28 task cards are placed face-down, while the remaining cards are removed. The five penalty cards, worth -1 to -5 points, are arranged with the -5 card at the bottom. The top task card is then revealed, and the starting player takes the five dice.
On each roll, the active player must set aside at least one die before rolling any remaining dice again, or take one baby bug token and reroll all dice just rolled. The player continues until all five dice have been set aside or a fifth baby bug has been taken.
Once all dice are set aside, the player checks the task card. If one or more tasks have been completed, a marker covers one task. When every task is covered, the player claims the card for its positive points, and the next player reveals a new task card.
- Complete tasks on cards by choosing when to set aside dice.
- Take baby bugs to reroll all dice just rolled.
- Continue immediately or pass the dice when tasks remain uncovered.
- Claim a penalty card when you reach five or more baby bugs.
If all dice are set aside without completing a task, the player takes two baby bugs. Whenever a player reaches five or more baby bugs, that player claims the top penalty card, and all baby bugs return to the supply. Wanzen Tanzen ends when the last task card or penalty card is claimed; the highest total score wins.
