About this board game
Dynamite Nurse is a card game with deck-building mechanisms for 3–5 players, featuring approximately 50 minutes of play in a world of swords and sorcery.
Each player runs a temple hospital and takes the role of a chief or nurse. Heroes from across the world return from dangerous dungeons with injuries, sickness, and curses, looking for treatment from a skilled hospital.
Your hospital has only so many beds, so caring for too many patients can quickly become a serious problem. Players must try to cure wounded heroes while also finding opportunities to pass annoying patients to rival hospitals. The challenge is to protect your reputation as a good hospital chief rather than become known as an infamous “dynamite nurse.”
- Fantasy hospital management in a swords-and-sorcery setting
- Card-based play with deck-building mechanisms
- Patients suffering from injuries, sickness, and underworld curses
- Competition between rival hospitals for fame and respect
Will your hospital earn the world’s respect as a master doctor, or will overcrowded beds and troublesome patients damage your standing? In Dynamite Nurse, treating heroes is only part of the struggle: keeping your hospital manageable while rivals compete against you is equally important.
Released in 2011, the game is based on two card games from the 1980s by the same designer: Dynamite Nurse and Dynamite Nurse 2: Bloody Temple. This connection explains the original Japanese title, ダイナマイトナース・リターンズ, or “Dynamite Nurse Returns.”
