Calimala: Deluxe Edition is a strategic board game for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 75 minutes. As cloth merchants in Florence’s wealthy Calimala Guild, you compete for power and control over the city’s future.

Broker deals and deliver cloth to markets while building your prestige across Florence. You can also sponsor statues and contribute to the construction of great Churches, creating multiple paths to influence and recognition.

Promote trusted family members into the Council of Calimala to trigger scoring and evaluate prestige in the next area of the board. Planning ahead is essential: watch the upcoming scoring conditions and hire contractors to take advantage of open opportunities.

This second edition, designed by award-winning designer Fabio Lopiano, has been beautifully remastered with art and graphic design by Ian O’Toole. It features extended gameplay and deluxe components, creating a polished presentation for competitive merchant play.

The edition also includes the Kickstarter-exclusive Intrigue Expansion. Take control of one of Florence’s historical merchant families, such as the Medici Family, and use unique player powers to advance your plans.

Four new expansion actions let you invest in banks to increase your control in cities or commission artworks to boost your standing with local churches. You can also align with the Holy Roman Empire or the Catholic Church, benefit from their contradictory policies, or attempt to play both sides and gain the best of both worlds. Calimala: Deluxe Edition was released in 2025.
