About this board game
Way Too Many Cats is a competitive drafting and spatial puzzle game for 1–6 players, with a play time of about 60 minutes. Players manage adoption agencies, seeking to present each cat in the best possible light.
Each turn, players draft cats and work to make every one happy. The cats’ types and individual characteristics affect how they should be handled, creating a spatial puzzle as players build their adoption centers.
The game also asks players to press their luck with the number of kittens they take on. Choosing how far to push this decision becomes part of the challenge as each agency grows its collection of cats.
- Drafting: Choose cats for your adoption agency.
- Spatial puzzling: Arrange cats in your showcase spaces.
- Cat happiness: Show off each cat in the best light.
- Press-your-luck decisions: Manage how many kittens you take on.
Play continues until one player fills all the showcase spots in their adoption center. Everyone receives an equal number of turns, keeping the final comparison focused on the completed agencies rather than an early finish alone.
At the end of Way Too Many Cats, the player with the cutest cats wins. With room for 1–6 players and a listed 2024 release year, it offers a cat-filled competition centered on drafting, spatial decisions, and adoption-center presentation.
