About this board game

Futboard is a tactical soccer board game for 2 players, designed for an exciting match of about 45 minutes. It combines the action of a real soccer game with strategic board-game decisions, using player tiles, a ball, rules, and dice.

At the beginning, each player chooses a team and selects 11 soccer players, then places the corresponding tiles on the board. Every turn gives a player three actions before control passes to the opponent. Movement, passing, and shooting all require careful choices as you work to create scoring opportunities.

• Move player tiles across the spaces according to their indicated movement values.
• Use a rule to measure whether a pass can reach another player.
• Take advantage of different player abilities, including stronger passing and kicking.
• Roll a D12 to determine whether a shot becomes a goal.

Passing is affected by the player’s ability, with better players able to make longer passes. Shooting depends on both the kicker’s skill and the position on the board. Distance from the goal reduces precision, so getting into a favorable position before attempting a shot can be crucial.

To resolve a kick, subtract the distance deficit shown on the board from the player’s kicking value. Roll the D12 and succeed if the result is equal to or lower than the final number. A successful roll sends the ball into the net.

Futboard features legendary players from different eras and offers two ways to decide the winner. Score more goals during the 45-minute match, or play a shorter contest in which the first player to score two goals wins.
