About this board game
Axis & Allies: Stalingrad is a two-player World War II strategy game with an approximately 300-minute play time, released in 2025. One player commands the German forces and minor Axis powers, while the other leads the Soviet forces in the battle for the famous city.
Set during the summer of 1942 and the six months that followed, the game recreates a campaign shaped by rapid advances, winter weather, supply shortages, and a failed relief effort. The German player must keep the juggernaut moving and maintain supply lines, while the Soviet player mounts a desperate defense and prepares for a massive counter-offensive.
The game includes two scenarios, each focusing on a different stage of the conflict:
- Race to Stalingrad: drive toward the city in a lightning thrust.
- Operation Uranus: fight through the winter counter-offensive that could turn the tide of the war.
Stalingrad has its own game board, bringing the city’s distinctive challenges to the table. Ferries, snipers, and notoriously close-quarters fighting make the urban battle a vital part of the experience, where every turn can buy time at a high cost.
More than 150 plastic miniatures represent the forces in the conflict, including two new units: the German StuG III Assault Gun and the Soviet Katyusha Rocket Launcher. Two gameboards support the broader campaign and the city fighting, while order cards control the flow of play and make learning the rules easier.
In Axis & Allies: Stalingrad, decide whether the German thrust can reach its objective or whether the Soviet defense can endure long enough for winter and the counter-offensive to reshape the battle.
