About this board game

13 Sheep is a quick roll-and-write game for 1–10 players, with play lasting about 8 minutes. Players draw fences on a map, trying to protect as many sheep as possible before the wolf comes.

Each turn, roll a die and draw the fence that matches the result. The die determines the fence to add, while every new line helps shape the areas that may score at the end of the game.

A game lasts between 7 and 10 rounds. The final length depends on the result of the die roll during the last three rounds, so the exact end of the game is not fixed from the start.

  • Roll a die each turn.
  • Draw the matching fence on the map.
  • Try to protect as many sheep as possible.
  • Score completely enclosed areas according to the number of sheep within them.

When the game ends, examine each completely enclosed area. Its score depends on how many sheep it contains, making the placement of fences central to your final result.

With its short playing time and support for as many as 10 players, 13 Sheep offers a compact drawing and scoring challenge for one or more participants. The game was released in 2019.
