About this board game

Tomb Trader is a fast negotiation and treasure-looting game for 3–6 players, playable in about 10 minutes. You and your fellow players are archaeological excavators with a decidedly practical interest in the past: claiming valuable treasures and smuggling them back to civilization.

The game unfolds over 6 or 7 rounds. During each round, every player selects a section of the tomb to explore, hoping to find themselves among the most profitable group. But your friends have the same plan, so choosing where to go is only the beginning.

Once inside a section, everyone has just one minute to divide the available treasure among the players there. You will need to negotiate quickly, persuade the others, and protect your own interests while trying to secure the best possible cut.

• Choose a section of the tomb to explore.
• Negotiate how the treasure will be divided.
• Reach an agreement before time runs out.
• Take nothing if the group fails to agree.

That final rule makes every discussion matter. A generous offer may win cooperation, while an overly ambitious demand can leave the entire group with nothing. The pressure of the ticking minute turns each division into a tense contest of timing, persuasion, and self-interest.
