Love Letter: 2nd Edition is a fast card game for 2–5 players, with each game taking about 10 minutes. Players compete to get their love letter into the Princess’s hands while deflecting letters from rival suitors.

The game builds on the original Love Letter’s simple, tense gameplay. Each player begins with just one card in hand, and one card is removed from play. On your turn, draw one card and play one card, using its effect to expose opponents and potentially knock them out of the game.

Every decision carries a risk. Powerful cards can create an early advantage, but they may also make you a target. Rely on weaker cards for too long, however, and your own letter could be tossed into the fire. Reading the situation and choosing when to act are central to every round.

Love Letter: 2nd Edition expands the original 16-card deck to 38 cards. Its contents combine familiar cards with cards from later editions and a set of new additions:

• 6 cards included in later editions of Love Letter
• 16 new cards

Players can swap original cards for new ones or simply add the new cards to the deck for a wilder game. This flexibility lets groups choose between the classic card set and a broader experience while keeping the same compact, easy-to-follow turn structure.
