About this board game
Truck Off: The Food Truck Frenzy Roll and Write is a standalone roll-and-write game for 1–99 players, with an approximately 35-minute play time. As food truck titans, players navigate a grid-based town, visiting venues, collecting sales, and competing to score the most points.
Each turn, the active player rolls a set of polyhedral dice and may reroll up to one die. Then, if possible, every player selects an open venue within up to four spaces of their truck, following the grid movement system. After visiting a venue, players mark the corresponding die value on their route tracker.
The route tracker has six columns, representing D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, and D20 venues. Your route must progress forward from D4 to D20 and then snake back toward D4. Since each venue can be visited only once, skipping a venue means it cannot be returned to on the tracker, making route planning a central part of the game.
- Navigate the town map and choose efficient routes.
- Mark venue values to record sales and score points.
- Complete rows or columns of three venues to gain bonuses.
- Use bonuses to reroll dice, drive farther or faster, navigate, and promote venues.
Bonuses can improve your movement and make venues more valuable, while the route tracker can also help push the game toward its end sooner than opponents expect. Dice create opportunities, but players must decide when to take a promising result and when to adapt after their plans change.
Combining navigation, risk mitigation, and press-your-luck decisions, Truck Off challenges you to balance efficient travel with high-value sales. Plan carefully, react to unexpected developments, and reroute your food truck on the way to food truck infamy.
