About this board game

Cosmocracy is a sci-fi party game for 3–8 players that takes about 45 minutes, challenging players to debate ridiculous issues and win enough votes to become President of the Galaxy.

Each debate begins with a randomized sci-fi themed topic. Players argue as the Pro or Con candidate, making up facts and pandering to the needs of the galaxy’s different alien races. There is no wrong way to debate: anything said during the game automatically becomes true.

If someone declares that the galaxy is at war with evil space oysters, that becomes part of the galaxy for the rest of the game. As debates continue, players collectively establish how this strange universe works, creating a unique experience every time Cosmocracy is played.

After each debate, the voters use their race cards to choose between the Pro and Con candidate. They may support the player who best appealed to their race’s needs, or simply the one who delivered the funniest or most creative response.

At the end of the game, the player with the most votes is elected President of the Galaxy. With its open-ended arguments and ever-changing setting, Cosmocracy turns imagination, comedy, and persuasive nonsense into a memorable party game.
