About this board game

Deux Années de Gloire is a 2024 two-player historical battle game covering four decisive engagements of the Prussian and Polish campaign from 1806 to 1807.

Command forces at Jena and Auerstedt on 14 October 1806, where French corps struck as they arrived and Davout achieved an unexpected victory against Brunswick’s army. Then face the brutal snow and sacrifice of Eylau on 8 February 1807, followed by Napoleon’s carefully prepared triumph at Friedland on 14 June.

The game brings together redesigned and significantly revised versions of battles previously featured in the Jours de Gloire series. Across eleven scenarios, players can explore five historical situations, three hypothetical scenarios, and three versions adapted for competition.

  • Four battle maps, each measuring 41.6 × 59 cm
  • 756 pre-cut counters and markers
  • Eleven scenarios in a dedicated booklet
  • French/English rulebook and player aid

Scenarios range from the possibility of Bernadotte’s arrival at Auerstedt to a simulation of two days of fighting at Friedland. The battles challenge players to destroy the Prusso-Saxon army at Jena, win at Auerstedt with a single army corps, preserve battalions during Eylau’s snowstorm, or escape Napoleon’s trap at Friedland.

The game uses a detailed battlefield scale: each strength point represents approximately 400 infantry, 300 cavalry, or four to six cannons. Units are represented at brigade or regiment level, each turn covers one hour and 45 minutes, and each hex represents 500 meters. With a listed difficulty of 7, Deux Années de Gloire offers a demanding treatment of the wars of the Fourth Coalition.
