About this board game

The Peach Festival is a 30-minute board game for 1–5 players, freely inspired by the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. In each turn, everyone uses the same roll of five custom Commodity dice to guide their decisions.

Your central objective is to place ascending numbers within commodity columns. Carefully building these columns can score points and create satisfying chain reactions as new rewards become available.

After the Commodity dice are rolled, each player chooses between two options:

  • Take Commodities: obtain commodities shown by the dice, with the possibility of manipulating them by eating Peaches of Immortality.
  • Take a Peach: gather a Peach for later use.

Obtaining commodities does more than fill spaces. Progress can unlock special column or market rewards, giving your choices additional consequences as your arrangement develops.

When a column is activated, you may obtain new Request cards featuring fantasy characters from Journey to the West. These cards represent objectives for the end of the game. You can also hire valuable Merchants, adding another way to benefit from successful column activation.

Because all players work from the same dice roll, the challenge lies in how each person interprets the shared results. Choosing when to claim commodities, when to take a Peach, and how to arrange ascending numbers shapes your scoring opportunities and future rewards.

With its literary inspiration, shared-roll decisions, commodity columns, and interconnected rewards, The Peach Festival combines accessible turn choices with opportunities to plan satisfying sequences across the game.
