About this board game

Deus Ex Machina is a competitive board game for 2 to 4 players, with a play time of about 45 minutes, in which each player takes the role of an Olympian god seeking supremacy.

The ancient Greek world is ruled by twelve powerful gods, each shaped by feelings, passions, and vices. Rather than confronting every rival directly, the gods compete through guile, conspiracies, and intricate machinations carried out in the shadows.

Players manipulate the heroes of ancient Greece, directing them toward quests where they can face mythical creatures and threats. By helping heroes overcome these challenges, the gods pursue Glory Points and advance their struggle for influence.

An innovative hero placement mechanism lies at the heart of the game. Players combine manipulation with behind-the-scenes planning, attempting to make mortal heroes serve their divine ambitions. The gods may influence mortals with promises of immortality and other divine gifts, or bend them to their will through dreadful threats and curses.
