Caty Mini

About this board game

Caty Mini is a 2019 board game for 2–4 players, with a play time of 45 minutes, in which players guide cats through children’s rooms to grab as many toys as possible.

Each player has a unique game board showing a room where a cat is playing. The board features cutouts that allow a length of twine to pass through and run from one piece of furniture to another. The central challenge is stretching your string across the room in the right way.

At the start of each round, the starting player chooses a furniture card from their hand and places it face-up on the pile in the middle of play. Players then take turns clockwise, moving their string through a slot on either side of the piece of furniture shown on the played card.

To score, your string must touch the object on the floor. When it does, you collect chip tokens. The player who gathers the most points wins, making every string placement an important opportunity to reach another toy.

First released as Kociaki Łobuziaki, Caty Mini has also received recognition in children’s and educational game awards. It won the 2020 Boardlive Awards Children’s Game category in South Korea and the 2021 EducaFlip award for Best Educational Game in France. It was also nominated for the 2021 Jokers award for Best Game for age 6+ in Belgium.
