About this board game
Nuts about Mutts is a 3–8 player card game that takes about 40 minutes, in which local dog walkers race to get their dogs home before everyone else.
The game unfolds over three rounds, with a faster option to play just one. On your turn, play a dog card matching the previously played dog by number, color, and/or breed, or play an action card. If you cannot make a legal play, you must draw a card.
There is an extra challenge in the neighborhood: the friendly mutt is loose again, and he loves to play. Give that good boy a bone to distract him, or you may end up chasing your dogs all over the neighborhood. If you are quick, certain cards can even be played when it is not your turn.
- Match dog cards by number, color, and/or breed.
- Use action cards to change the flow of play.
- Play certain cards outside your own turn when the opportunity arises.
- Race to play the last card in your hand and go out.
When a player goes out, the round ends and everyone tallies the points on cards remaining in their hand. After three rounds, the player with the fewest points wins and earns the title of The Most Paw-some Dog Walker.
Released in 2015, Nuts about Mutts combines quick card matching, playful interruptions, and hand management in a lighthearted race for the finish. Whether you play the full game or choose the one-round version, it is a howling good time for the whole group.
