About this board game

Aurignac is an asymmetrical game for 1–5 players, with sessions lasting about 150 minutes. Across the valley of Aurignac, three distinct roles struggle to adapt and survive through ten seasons while Mother Nature works against them.

As Sapiens, use deck building to move from territory to territory, hunt, collect resources, or attack tribes. Your goal is to use those resources to complete three masterpieces before the tenth season ends, leaving your signature for future generations.

As Neanderthal, lead a clan through a worker-placement system. Move, hunt, collect, and attack tribes as you gather what is needed to found seven tribes before the end of the tenth season, giving your people a chance to resist inevitable extinction.

The third role belongs to Mother Nature. Through hand management, place resources, watch over herds, choose the climatic conditions for each season, and react to the tribes’ actions with cards that trigger events.

  • Sapiens: Build a deck and complete three masterpieces.
  • Neanderthal: Place workers and found seven tribes.
  • Mother Nature: Manage a hand of cards and hinder both peoples.

Each role approaches the valley with different mechanics and a different objective. In Aurignac, the tribes must achieve their ambitions before the seasons run out, while Mother Nature seeks to prevent both Sapiens and Neanderthals from reaching their goals.
