Morgan’s Magic Map

About this board game

Morgan’s Magic Map is a treasure-hunting board game for 2–4 players, played in about 45 minutes. Race fellow pirates to uncover Captain Morgan’s buried riches before his cursed map fades to dust.

To begin, arrange twenty map tiles in a 4×5 grid, keeping matching water and land edges adjacent. Most tiles show a recognizable reference point, such as The Tomb, The 3 Columns, or Big Nose Bay. Each player starts with a pirate, two doubloons, and four map cards.

On your turn, you may move a map tile with a free edge, provided the map remains connected, water still touches water, and no pirate occupies the tile. Then move your pirate up to two spaces orthogonally. If your position matches the directions on one or more map cards, play them to locate treasure.

• Map cards show a reference point, a distance, and a bonus icon.
• Treasure cards come in six colors, with five available on the treasure board at a time.
• Playing three map cards lets you take any of the top three available treasure cards.
• Played map cards remain in front of you until their bonuses are used for extra tile movement, additional pirate movement, or deeper digging.

The deeper you dig, the more doubloons you earn alongside your treasure. When the treasure deck runs out, players score their collected doubloons, treasure values, and bonuses. For each treasure type, the player with the most earns a six-doubloon bonus, with tied players sharing it.
