About this board game

Dig Down Dwarf is a fast-paced press-your-luck dice game for 2–6 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Easy-to-learn rules, quick turns, and portable components make it suitable for newcomers, families, and experienced gamers alike.

On your turn, dice rolls drive the action, while gems give you the ability to alter dice results. You can also activate special dwarven powers, adding meaningful choices to the game’s quick and casual format. The Second Edition uses three black dice and one red die; the red die activates everyone’s dwarven powers.

Three of the game’s 18 Objective Cards are drawn at the beginning of each game. These objectives provide a way to earn bonus points at the end, and the group can decide whether to keep them secret or place them face up for everyone to see.

This second edition also brings clean new graphic design and artwork, more gems than the first edition, and revised colors for easier component identification. Star gems are yellow, while cursite gems—fossilized dragon dung—are black.

Winner of the Micro Game Challenge, Dig Down Dwarf was unanimously selected as the overall number-one design by the judges from 128 entries. Its short play time and portability make it a strong travel game and filler game.
