About this board game

Aikamatka: Suomi is a trivia game about the history of Finland for 1–8 players, with a playing time of about 60 minutes.

The game includes 165 cards, each presenting a historical event on its front and the event’s year on its back. These cards support two different ways to play, offering a choice between arranging events in sequence and estimating their dates.

• Drafting mode: Draft cards and try to arrange them in chronological order. The player with the fewest misplaced cards wins.
• Trivia mode: Guess the correct year for each event by placing markers on the gameboard. After a fixed number of rounds, the player with the most points wins.

In drafting mode, the focus is on building a timeline from the historical events you receive. Correctly judging how the cards relate to one another is key, while the final result is determined by the number of cards in the wrong position.

Trivia mode uses the gameboard for a more direct year-guessing challenge. Place your markers to show your answers, play through the set number of rounds, and aim to finish with the highest score.

Released in 2017, Aikamatka: Suomi combines Finnish history, chronological ordering, and year-based trivia in one card game. Its two gameplay modes let players approach the same collection of historical events in different ways.
