About this board game

Big Bang 13.7 is a cosmic tile-placement game for 1–4 players, with sessions lasting about 45 minutes. Create an expanding universe from hexagonal pieces while pursuing hidden objectives and watching a cosmic clock mark the passage of millions of years.

Each player begins with two secret objective cards: one showing a celestial body type and one showing a color. During the game, players score victory points by aligning three or more consecutive celestial bodies that match their own type or color.

The universe begins 13.7 billion years ago, when the first piece is placed in the Big Bang. On each turn, a player chooses one of the four available pieces beneath the cosmic clock and adds it to the universe, following two mandatory placement rules.

  • The piece must be adjacent to at least two other pieces, including at least one celestial body.
  • The celestial body must share a characteristic with every adjacent celestial body: its type, color, or background.

The game includes 48 celestial bodies featuring four types—planets, stars, asteroids, and comets—along with four colors and three backgrounds: empty space, stars, and galaxy. Additional pieces represent phenomena such as supernovas, black holes, and wormholes, while special actions include orbit, eclipse, hyperspace, and dark energy.

Once every available piece has been placed, the game ends. Players reveal their objectives and count points from qualifying alignments. In a tie, the winner is the player furthest behind on the cosmic clock—the one who has invested fewer millions of years. In Big Bang 13.7, every placement helps shape the universe and may bring a hidden objective into alignment.
